Hey all, I wanted to check in with a quick Halloween update. If you’ve been to the site lately, you might have noticed things have been pretty quiet at the blog. But what better time to return than my favorite day of the year?
So during the hiatus, I mostly put all writing-related things on hold to dedicate all of the free time to the upcoming release and final edits of the card game I’m working on, 52 Dragons. I’m getting ready to launch a Kickstarter campaign for it before Thanksgiving, and have a tentative launch date in early 2020. It’s a little later than I originally planned, but this is a whole new experience for me and setting up a kickstarter is almost as time-consuming as writing a novel.
Here are some fun Halloween-related things for ya’ll.
First off, the 2019 Theme of Absence Halloween Horror Flash Fiction Contest was a great success and I had more entries than any of the previous years.
The winning story, Alice’s Closet by Larry Wade, went live this morning and the runner-up, Tension by Amanda Crum is also online. Check ’em out and let us know what you think.
My latest short story, Hearts and Minds, was published earlier this month at Constant Readers (a Stephen King tribute site), so check that out if you want to read how a psychic gambler tracks down his sister’s killer.
I should be a little more active both here and on social media now. Look for the return of Five Links Friday, as well as a new episode of the podcast next week. I’ll continue to post updates on the Kickstarter campaign, and the occasional writing-related post too.
So check back soon, and if you’re planning to do NaNoWriMo this month, I wish you the best of luck getting it done.
Happy Halloween and happy writing!
