Hey, it’s Friday, it’s hot, and it’s crazy. So here’s are the best articles I read about writing this week. Enjoy!
1. Let’s start with one that will get Scott’s blood boiling 🙂 The Promise and Potential of Fan Fiction by Stephanie Burt at The New Yorker claims that that “Fan fiction offers new writers a clearer path to potentially interested readers than has ever previously existed.” Wowzers.
2. On a more positive note, here’s something that’s not technically writing-related, but happy people make more efficient writers. Check out how Doing These 4 Things Will Make You Happier by Eric Barker at Time.com.
3. On the flip side of the happy writer, Julia Kay asks Can the Weary Writer Write? in a guest post at Cynthia Herron’s blog.
4. Can you make money self-publishing? Derek Haines has some good tips on How To Make Money Writing And Self-Publishing.
5. Let’s close out this week with some words on How To Write Emotion & Depth Of Character with Becca Puglisi at Mystery Thriller Week.
And just like that, another week (and nearly half of the year) is in the books. Check back this weekend for a new episode of the podcast, and until then, have a great weekend!
