It’s time again for Five Links Friday: The best articles I read about writing this week. Enjoy!
1. We (writing blogs) talk so much about how to find an agent. But no one talks about what happens after you do and they decide they don’t like you. Bill Coelius at Backstage.com has some advice on that for actors, but I think it carries over to writers as well: 3 Things to Do After Getting Dumped by Your Agent.
2. Another great post on marketing your book from BadRedhead Media: Want Publishing Success? Be a Great Writer and Clever Marketer.
3. Here’s a video by Khaled Hosseini on How Art Makes Us Feel Less Alone that is worth a look. Unless you like feeling alone, that is. Then there’s nothing I can do for you.
4. Got boring characters? Check out Angela Ackerman’s post on creating Characters That Stand Out To Reader.
5. Finally let’s close with some one-or-two-space arguments from Avi Selk at The Washington Post. Personally, I thought they’d have to pry that second space from my cold dead hands, but about a minute after I switched to a single space at the end of a sentence, I never turned back. Here’s the article. What do you think? One space between each sentence, they said. Science just proved them wrong.
That’s it for this week’s links. Check back tomorrow for another episode of podcast. Until then, thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
